Rian Ford Valdez is named after his great grandfather who absolutely loved to fly. I thought it would only be fitting to design his nursery in a vintage plane theme.
I am obsessed with contrasting colors and a more modern vintage look. I love this nursery!
Budget was definitely in mind while I was searching for fun finds and thinking about how I wanted to put together Rian’s room. Below are the details which will include where I found certain pieces and (if I can remember) what I paid for them! =)
Vintage airplane – found at HomeGoods for $29.99
Jenny Lind crib – found on a buy/sell/trade FaceBook group for $50 and painted red.
Bedding is by Aden + Anais and the mobile is from Pottery Barn Kids (use a coupon!).
Letter R – found at HomeGoods for $19.99 (also lights up!)
Metal Baskets (shelves) – found at Michael’s for $24.99 each (use a coupon while they are on sale! I got these for under $12 each)
Changing pad cover by Aden + Anais
Airplane Hanger – found at HomeGoods for $6.99
Himalayan Salt Lamp for late night feedings – found on Amazon for around $30 (I LOVE this thing and highly recommend it! Research the great effects of amber light as opposed to white & blue lights)
Navy Blue Dresser – one of my neighbors was selling his old dresser for $50. I painted it navy blue and added new hardware from Target to match the changing cabinet (which was a Craiglist find)
Glider – bought of a neighbor for $60
Plane Sketches – found the prints on Pinterest and printed them at Costco then framed with matted frames from Target
FLY Letters – found at Hobby Lobby (use a 40% off coupon on each!) for $9.99
Lamp – found at Target for about $50 and the shade is from HomeGoods for $16.99
Fabric Plane Baskets – found both at HomeGoods
Book Rack – found at HomeGoods for $20
Red Shelf – donated by my sister (thanks Kari!!)
Last addition – baby Rian! Coming soon!!!
