Whew, this bar…. what to say? It certainly tastes like a high fiber vegan treat if you catch my drift.

The bar is pretty dry and crumbly. The second I took a bite, it practically dissolved into little pieces in my mouth…. almost like chalk. Not pleasant.

One of the only saving graces was the little dried fruit pieces that added some texture and crunch. I really liked that.

Overall, I wouldn’t buy this bar again and I am super happy I didn’t purchase a box off of Amazon and went with the single bar approach from Vitamin Shoppe. I have another flavor (dark chocolate brownie) to try and I am hoping this dry bar was a fluke… maybe an old bar on the shelf?

Rating? 3/10. At least your poop should be happy with all that fiber.

Ok, so this isn’t exactly a “protein packed” review…. but I had to throw this bar on here. Why? Because even my husband ate it.

I wasn’t too sure how to feel about a vegetable & fruit bar at first. I usually stick to higher protein bars with some sort of added protein powder in it. This flavor is KILLER. You can taste every single ingredient listed on the label. And what’s even cooler? The only ingredients in these bars are the ones listed in the name. With a world drowning in additives, this is something I find priceless.

I give this bar a 9.5/10.

Chia isn’t really my thing. (I know, I know…. but it’s so healthy!) To be honest, the only real reason I grabbed this bar was because I got it for free after my Dodgers Foundation 5k this past Sunday. 🙂

I was very happily surprised!

Texture wise, the bar is great. It’s chewy from the cherries & other fruit, crispy from the brown rice crisps, and crunchy from the nuts and chia. I really enjoyed eating this – which shocked even myself. The dark chocolate on the bottom was a nice bonus, even though it melted all over by the time I ate it LOL.

The only downside to bars like these are they don’t have the protein content I usually look for. But, on the upside, they’re full of quality ingredients and really do help to satisfy a midday sweet craving for very few calories! Plus, if you can’t tolerate a whole lot of protein, this bar is perfect for you!

Overall, I give this bar a 7.5/10 – strictly because of the protein.

FitJoy Nutrition – French Vanilla Almond

This was my second FitJoy Nutrition bar that I tried thanks to the recommendations from all of you!

The consistency is nice; chewy and stays on the palate for a while. It definitely isn’t hard like some of the other brands out there. I also appreciate the mix of almonds inside the bar. I really like the texture and flavor that it gives!

The protein coating on the bottom of the bar is a nice touch and gives really good vanilla flavor to the bar.

Taste wise, it holds true the description. I can definitely taste vanilla and almond throughout the bar. I usually find vanilla flavored protein foods to be bland and kind of gross, but this one isn’t at all.

Overall, this wouldn’t be my first choice in bar (I’m more of a chocolate lover), but it is a great option! 🙂

I’d give this bar a 8/10.

FitJoy Nutrition – Frosted Cinnamon Roll

I’m usually not a huge fan of cinnamon bun flavored things but this is DELICIOUS.

The texture of the bar is nice: soft, chewy & stays on the tongue for a bit before dissolving. I like that I have to chew each bite for a bit because it slows me down and is more satisfying in my opinion. Protein drizzles are usually used to “fluff” up bars. This drizzle has a great flavor that enhances the bar without being something that is there just for looks. The nuts on top add a nice toasty/warm flavor and crunch which I like.

Overall, I’d give this bar a 9/10. Great flavor and great macros.

I feel like I am constantly on the go; doctors appointments, personal training sessions, froyo… I am one busy mama 😉
